RUSK COUNTY, WI (WSAU) — Earlier this week a deer hunter in nothern Wisconsin mistakenly shot and killed two bull elk.
It happened on private property in Rusk County. The hunters identity is not being released pending charges. The hunter self-reported the kill.
The hunter is likely facing a citation and will have to pay restitution for the animals.
Meat from the animals was donated to local food pantries.
