MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin volleyball team earned the Big Ten Championship with a sweep of Rutgers on Saturday. The set scores were 25-14, 25-12 and 25-21.
The Badgers finished with a 10-1 advantage in service aces in the match. Molly Haggerty and Grace Loberg had 11 kills each.
The Badgers, now 22-6 overall, 18-2 in Big Ten, earned a 4th seed in the NCAA Tournament and will host first and seccond round matches on Friday and Saturday at the UW-Fieldhouse.
UCLA will play Notre Dame and Wisconsin will face Illinois State on Friday.
The Wisconsin mens hockey team dropped a 3-1 decision to split the two-game series with Michigan on Sunday at the Kohl Center.
Cole Caufield had his 10th goal of the season.
Wisconsin, now 7-8-1, will travel to Michigan State on Friday and Saturday.
The Wisconsin womens hockey team topped Boston College 5-3 on Sunday in Nashville Tennessee.
Badger goals went to Sophie Shirley, Britta Curl, Abby Roque,Delaney Drake and Daryl Watts. Kristen Campbell had 23 saves.
The 2nd ranked Badgers, now 16-1-1, will host UM-Duluth on Friday and Saturday before an extended break into January.
The Wisconsin womens basketball team dropped a 68-64 decision to Arkansas on Sunday in the Bahamas.
Abby Laszewski had a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Imani Lewis had 14 and Kendra Van Leeuwen added 13.
The Badgers will travel to Atlanta on Thursday to face Georgia Tech as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
