WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The ice skating rink on the 400 block in Wausau is temporarily closing. Unusually warm weather is to blame — it’s been above freezing for a part of each of the past five days. Some of the skating surface is turning to slush.
A Facebook post from Wausau & Marathon County Parks, Recreation and Forestry adds “Thom Field and Marathon Park outdoor rinks have not yet opened for the season. The public is asked to stay off these rinks until conditions improve.”
Outdoor ice rinks in Marshfield and Stevens Point are also closed until the weather turns colder.
