TOWN OF HANSEN, WI (WSAU) — No one was injured but traffic was snarled for much of the day when a long truck and recycling truck collided on Highway 186 in Wood County.
Officials say Jonathan Harnisch of Menomonie was driving the long truck southbound through the Town of Hansen when he rear-ended Ryan Leitner’s garbage truck.
Officials say Litner was picking up trash along his regular route at the time of the incident.
Because of the size and nature of the vehicles, the highway was shut down for several hours. Officials from the Wood County Sheriff’s office, Vesper Fire Department, and Wood County Highway Department all responded to the incident.
