WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — A Nekoosa man has been formally charged for killing his girlfriend’s adult daughter.
Paul Carter, 43, was officially charged with a count of 1st-degree intentional homicide at his initial appearance Tuesday, March 3rd. The charge against Carter stems from the January 17th death of Samantha Roberts, his girlfriend’s adult daughter with cerebral palsy and described as non-verbal.

Carter is also facing a charge of battery for kicking a fellow inmate in the head at the Wood County Jail after an argument over a TV remote. He will return to court for a preliminary hearing and arraignment on March 12th.
Carter faces up to life in prison if convicted for the charges.
