WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — A second passenger has died in connection with a two-vehicle crash in Wood County last weekend.
Sheriff’s officials announced four-year-old Dominic Weichart passed away Wednesday evening from injuries sustained in the crash.
Weichart was in the back seat of a vehicle driven by Courtney Weichart of Manitowoc on Sunday morning when the car collided with a dump truck driven by a Stevens Point man.
One other passenger, identified as William Walsdorf of Manitowoc, was pronounced dead at the scene. Courtney Weichart suffered serious injuries. Officials have not provided an update on her condition.
The accident happened at the intersection of Highways 73 and 186 in the Town of Sigel. It’s unclear if charges will be filed against the driver of the dump truck.
