WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU-WAOW) –The Wisconsin Rapids Police have identified the body of the male subject recovered from the Wisconsin River on Monday.
He has been identified as 46-year-old Pedro Merino Alcantar of Pittsville.
The preliminary autopsy results indicate the cause of death as that of a probable drowning.
Alcantar was last seen on Friday, July 24 in the area of Homestead Golf Course around 9 pm.

Officials from the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department confirm that a body was pulled out of the Wisconsin River Monday morning.
The body is currently unidentified. Identification is what the department is currently working on with the case.
Wisconsin Rapids Police Chief Erman Blevins says the body was found near the Riverview Expressway Bridge around 9:30 a.m. They know it is an adult male but have been unable to identify the person at this time.
Police are also waiting for autopsy results to determine how the person died.
