MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK)– After Saturday saw a record-breaking 1,165 new cases of COVID-19, number of positive tests and total test results are down on Sunday.
According to the Department of Health Services, 621 new COVID-19 cases are being reported after 7,418 results were gathered.
Saturday had 13,162 test results gathered, nearly double than what is being reported Sunday.
Percentage of positive test results is also down on Sunday, as the 621 new cases accounts for 8.4% of the days total test results. On Saturday, 8.9% of tests were positive.
Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, there has been 1,054,296 people tested, 60,554 positive test results, and 993,742 negative test results in Wisconsin.
The DHS considers 50,028 patients to have recovered from COVID-19 and there are 9,510 active cases, 126 less than reported on Saturday.
Wisconsin hospitals are reporting to the DHS that 2,503 hospital beds are immediately available out of the 11,519 total beds. There were just 2,236 beds available on Saturday, according to the DHS.
There are a total of 355 COVID-19 patients receiving hospital care, 44 more than reported Saturday.
94 of the 355 patients are in ICU’s, which is two less than Saturday.
The state has a supply of 1,986 ventilators with 336 in use.
DHS and the Wisconsin Hospitals Association caution that adjustments to hospital data are being made to meet changes recently mandated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
