MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — For the first time in more than two weeks, Wisconsin health officials on Monday reported no net change in the number of deaths connected to COVID-19.
The death toll in Wisconsin remains at 998. While the state Department of Health Services says Waukesha County reported a death, a correction of another erroneously reported death resulted in the total number remaining the same.
Meanwhile, the state Department of Health Services said 507 people tested positive out of the 8,167 total coronavirus tests reported Monday. The 6.2% positive rate was up from Sunday and slightly above the seven-day average of 6%. The seven-day average of new cases is 819.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 61,061 cases of coronavirus and 1,001,402 negative tests.
DHS considers 50,662 people to have recovered from COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus.
Hospital counts had not been updated as of Monday afternoon.
