MADISON, WI (Wisconsin Radio Network-WSAU) – More cuts are coming for the UW System.
Interim UW-System president Tommy Thompson says that they’re looking to cut $6 million in payroll over the next two years at the administration level. Thompson says that would be about 10% of their salaried payrolls.
Individual universities and campuses are still figuring out where they can make their own cuts.
Thompson has argued that the UW should be spared future budget cuts after earlier rounds of funding reductions earlier this year. Thompson says he will make his case with Governor Tony Evers and the GOP-controlled legislature.
