MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK)– On Saturday, the state department of health is reporting 11,335 new COVID-19 test results completed with 829 positive tests.
Test results on Saturday are up from Friday, which had 10,439 total test results completed. While testing results are up, positive tests are down from Friday’s 1,021 new COVID-19 cases.
Percentage of positive test results were down on Saturday with only 7.3% after Friday had 9.8% of tests come back positive.
Saturday’s percentage of positive cases also drove the seven day average down slightly to 7%.
Coronavirus deaths on Saturday were in the double digits with 13 new deaths, almost double the number from Friday. The seven-day average for reported deaths increased from five on Friday to six on Saturday.
Since the pandemic began, the DHS is reporting a total of 1,120,175 people tested, 65,056 positive cases, 1,055,119 negative test results, and 1,038 deaths.
The DHS considers 55,172 patients to have recovered from COVID-19, 991 more than what was reported Friday.
The state has 8,828 active COVID-19 cases.
Wisconsin hospitals are reporting to the DHS that 336 patients are receiving hospital care, which is the same number as Friday. 110 of those patients are in the ICU, which is also the same from Friday.
The state has a supply of 1,979 ventilators with 338 in use.
