MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Wisconsin DHS on Sunday is confirming just 685 new cases of COVID-19, however only 6,099 test results were confirmed by the department.
Sunday’s 685 new cases is the lowest since Wednesday, August 12, had only 478 newly confirmed cases of the new coronavirus, and is also down from Saturday’s 829 positive COVID-19 test results.
Total testing results being reported is also down from Saturday, where the DHS reported 11,335 total test results completed and reported.
Percentage of positive test results on Sunday shot up to 11.2% after Saturday’s positive test results accounted for just 7.3% of the days total reported results.
The state reported only one new COVID-19 related death on Sunday, which brings the total to 1,039 in the state.
Since the pandemic began, Wisconsin has had 1,126,274 total people tested, 65,741 positive cases, and 1,060,533 negative test results.
The DHS considers 55,982 patients to have recovered from COVID-19, which is 810 more than on Saturday.
There are 8,702 active COVID-19 cases in the state.
Wisconsin hospitals are reporting to the DHS that 2,426 hospital beds are immediately available out of the 11,475 total beds.
There are 337 total COVID-19 patients receiving hospital care, one more than reported on Saturday. 96 of those patients are in the ICU, 14 less than Saturday.
The state has a supply of 1,964 ventilators with 335 in use.
The state has gone through a fairly regular weekly testing pattern, with few tests to begin the week that ramp up around Tuesday.
