MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Tuesday’s coronavirus numbers in Wisconsin continued the trends of lower seven-day average case numbers, higher seven-day average positive test rate and higher seven-day average of deaths.
The state Department of Health Services reported 634 positive tests out of a total 9,991, or 6.3%, on Tuesday.
The seven-day average number of new cases has fallen to 721, the lowest since July 13. However, the seven-day average of positive test results has risen to 7.6%, the highest since May 6. Tuesday’s rate was, however, the lowest since last Wednesday.
The state also reported 13 new deaths on Tuesday, for an average of seven per day over the past week.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 66,830 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection and 1,142,227 negative tests. A total of 1,052 people have died in Wisconsin.
DHS lists 57,382 people as having recovered from COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus.
Hospitalization numbers had not been updated for the day as of early Tuesday afternoon.
