If you’re looking for a paid internship this Fall, here’s the perfect mix between agriculture, social media managing, and marketing.
The Wisconsin Maple Syrup Producers Association (WMSPA) is looking for their 2020- 2021 Maple Marketing Intern (September 2020 – September 2021). This program was formally known as the Maple Queen Program, but was switched a few years ago. The internship isn’t only for college students, high school seniors can apply as well.
The WMSPA is looking for someone who has some knowledge of the maple syrup industry in the state, but they’re very willing to teach you all about it. You need to be able to travel, have a flexible schedule, be willing to run their social media page, and educate others about the industry. Basically, your job would be to make more people aware of what a big deal maple syrup is in Wisconsin. Not many people know, but we’re actually the fourth biggest maple syrup producing state in the United States.
With this internship, you also get to go to the state fair for a couple of days, attend the first tree tapping in March, and go to maple syrup open houses during the season. This is a great opportunity to use your creativity when it comes to promoting and marketing maple syrup in the state. Plus, you’ll receive $500 (which could be more depending on how many events you attend), paid mileage to and from events, and a year’s membership to WMSPA.
If interested, send a resume, a short essay about Wisconsin maple syrup and about any involvement you have in the industry to director@wismaple.org by August 24th, 2020. Good luck!
