KENOSHA, WI (WTAQ) — The other two police officers present when Kenosha Police Officer Rusten Sheskey shot 29-year-old Jacob Blake in the back seven times during a Sunday incident have been identified.
In a press release, Department of Justice officials name them as Officer Vincent Arenas and Officer Brittany Meronek, who joined the department in January.
They were called out to the home after Blake’s girlfriend called police telling them he wasn’t supposed to be at her house. Sheskey and Arenas had both attempted and failed to tase Blake before the shots were fired.
Blake remains at a Milwaukee area hospital. His family says he’s paralyzed. The shooting kicked off rioting and protesting across the state and even in areas across the country.
