WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A local non-profit organization has named their new President/CEO after a three-month national search.
Tuesday the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin announced that Tim Parker will be the non-profit’s new President/CEO. Parker succeeds former President Jean Tehan who retired from the position on August 31st after spending over 32 years with the organization.
Community Foundation Board Chairperson Chris Pfender says Parker comes to the area from his role as president of Michigan Capital Network, an investment organization based in Grand Rapids. “Tim brings an exciting background. Experience in the private sector, his background as an engineer, and his non-profit work through some university foundations. And then most recently, with managing an investment network in Central Michigan.”
When Parker steps into the role on October 5th, Pfender says he’ll have big shoes to fill taking over for Tehan. “He’ll be working with the existing staff to close those assets under management. But most importantly to make sure that those assets are used to stay within the community and to continue to fund all of the new projects that will be coming our way. And really just kind of follow in all the great work Jean has done.”
During the search, Pfender says the foundation search committee was looking for someone who had expereince in leadership and a mixture of expertise in non-profits and buisness. Parker stood out to the committee by his ability to look through data to come up with new opportunities for the foundation. He said Parker blew the committee away during his final interview by the ideas he had for the foundation to build on their current success.
Parker will relocate to Central Wisconsin from Central Michigan later this month. Pfender expects he will bring enthusiasm to his new role and work to learn more about the Central Wisconsin community as a transplant from another state. Parker will begin his work as Community Foundation President/CEO on October 5th.
