CRANDON, WI (WSAU) — A local school district is closing buildings on Friday due to rising COVID-19 cases.
According to a Facebook post, the School District of Crandon on guidance from the Forest County Health Department is closing schools to students on Friday. Extensive contract tracing and a significant increase of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the area led the school district to make the final decision.
School buildings will be disinfected and deep cleaned while they are closed on Friday. The day will then become a day off from school for students in the district. At this time the day off on Friday will not impact the school year calendar with days built-in for closures.
The District says further communication about returning to in-person learning or the learning model for next week will be released on Friday. The return is dependent on the status of COVID-19 and guidance from the Forest County Health Department.
