WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A local sports station is bringing a new sports network to Central Wisconsin.
Midwest Communications recently announced an agreement with iHeart Media to bring the Game Sports Network programming to Wausau on WRIG AM/FM. The Game Sports Network programming originates from iHeart’s flagship Wisconsin station 97.3 FM Milwaukee.
WRIG Brand Manager Ken Clark says of the new programming, “WRIG listeners are very passionate about their Wisconsin sports. We’re excited for the opportunity to connect them to news and talk about the Packers, Badgers, Brewers, and Bucks all day long. Our hosts are familiar names and we’re excited about this opportunity!”
The Game Network focuses on all Wisconsin Sports lineup. The 12 hour-long programming block consists of the Steve Czaban Show in the morning, followed by 9 to Noon with John Kuhn, a former Packers fullback, and Brian Butch, a Wisconsin Badger basketball great. Longtime play-by-play voice of the Milwaukee Bucks Ted Davis hosts from noon-3 p.m. on the Crossover. And the day ends with the Time Out Sports Lounge featuring Drew and KB from 3 to 6 p.m.
The Game Sports Network debuted on WRIG on Monday, November 2nd.
