MADISON, WI (WTAQ) — Governor Tony Evers is expected to address the state of Wisconsin tonight regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.
Evers announced the speech earlier this morning.
It’s expected to start at 6:05 pm and will be streamed live on Facebook and Youtube.
It comes days after a weekend that saw a record-high 11,000 new coronavirus infections in the state.
Previously, Evers has delivered messages primarily through media intermediaries during the pandemic, hosting weekly press briefings and taking questions from reporters. The evening address is the first since the beginning of the pandemic.
