MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Nearly 400 unopened ballots have been discovered in Milwaukee County as election officials continue a recount of the Presidental votes.
Officials say the box of ballots was left off the original count due to human error. No further information about them, including what municipality they came from, has been given.
So far the recount has netted 57 additional votes for Trump, who lost the state by more than 20,000 votes according to canvassed totals that were announced last week. That doesn’t include the batch of 386 ballots that were found on Wednesday.
President Trump paid $3 million to cover the costs of recounting ballots in Milwaukee and Dane Counties in an effort to flip the state into his column. Officials must complete the recount by December 1st.
