MADISON, WI (METRO) – Frontline healthcare workers in Wisconsin could see the first doses of the coronavirus vaccine next week.
The people who they treat in long term care facilities in the state may have to wait til next month.
The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday said because Wisconsin is expected to get just 60 thousand doses of the vaccine, not everyone will be able to get a shot right away.
Hospitals in and around Milwaukee are making plans now to distribute the vaccine to their workers.
The FDA’s Advisory Committee recommended Pfizer’s and BioNTech’s vaccine on Thursday, clearing the way for the FDA to grant emergency approval.
