The National Bison Association put in a request for USDA to buy $17 million worth of bison meat under the Section 32 Surplus Removal program and USDA approved the request. The association filed the request back in August. The purchase is a part of a $170 million Section 32 purchase. The good news is that this action will help benefit the whole U.S. bison industry.
