MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The number of new coronavirus cases in Wisconsin was in line with the seven-day average on Wednesday, while deaths remained high.
The state Department of Health Services reported 2,579 new cases, or 29.1% of the 8,856 tests completed. DHS also reported 69 deaths.
Those numbers compared to seven-day averages of 2,685 new cases, 26% test positivity and 60 deaths.
As of Wednesday, there were two patients at the alternate care facility near Milwaukee, one fewer than on Tuesday. Overall hospitalization numbers are expected to be updated later Wednesday afternoon.
