MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Wisconsin health officials confirmed the most coronavirus cases in six days Wednesday as deaths were in line with the seven-day average.
The Department of Health Services said 2,755 people tested positive, accounting for 37.4% of the 7,362 total tests done. Thirty-five new deaths were also reported.
Seven-day averages moved to 1,956 cases, 25.1% test positivity and 29 deaths.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 477,292 total cases, more than 2.3 million negative tests and 4,818 deaths. DHS considers 444,609 people to have recovered from COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus.
There continued to be no patients at the alternate care facility near Milwaukee.
Hospitalization numbers are expected to be updated later in the afternoon.
