The Wisconsin DNR found that there was a positive case of chronic wasting disease (CWD) in an adult doe shot in Shawano County. The deer was harvested in the town of Germania. Since the doe was located so close to Waupaca County, they’re renewing the baiting and feeding bans in both Shawano and Waupaca County.
This is the first time Shawano County has had a positive CWD case.
