MADISON, WI (WRN) – One day after a record-high number in COVID-19 deaths, the DHS on Sunday is reporting only one COVID-19 death.
Along with the one death, 1,606 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed by the DHS which is down from Saturday’s 1,937 new infections.
A total of 6,674 test results were processed on Sunday.
Sunday’s positivity rate of 24% is also down from Saturday, which had a rate of 27.5%.
The seven-day case average shrunk from 2,161 on Saturday to 2,129 Sunday.
The seven-day death average stayed the same from Saturday to Sunday at 42 despite the sharp decline in new deaths.
Since the start of the pandemic there have been 521,794 positive cases, over 2.4 million negative test results, and 5,451 deaths.
The DHS considers 490,043 patients to be recovered from COVID-19, while 26,139 cases are active.
