Mosinee Superintendent David Muñoz joined us on WSAU Feedback this week to discuss the successes of the Mosinee School District this school year. Under the strong leadership of the well-informed and united Mosinee School Board, they opened for learning at the beginning of the school year – and remain open with 93% of their students choosing to attend in person and the remaining opting for a virtual setting.
With the full support of their community and Mayor Brent Jacobson, they have successfully and fully participated in clubs, activities, sports and community events. Superintendent Muñoz complimented the school board, parents, teachers and staff on their commitment to ensuring that the students have a positive experience. He was thrilled to share that the students and faculty have remained healthy and engaged in their education. By affirming that kids want to be in school and encouraging them to live their lives, he asserted that first and foremost, it’s a mindset based on hope – instilling confidence in them so that they can prevail.
What a refreshing and inspiring attitude. In light of the challenges that we have all faced and endured over the past year, this group of committed adults made some important and intelligent decisions which were focused on what was best for the children in the Mosinee School District. They channeled their inner American and overcame fear, chose faith and embraced hope.
Bravo, Mosinee. You rose to the challenge and are indeed a model for all of Wisconsin.
