MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin DNR has officially announced the parameters for the state’s first grey wolf hunt in years on Tuesday.
The application period opened at 12:01 AM Tuesday and will run through Saturday evening at 11:59. Those who apply for a permit will find out of they were selected on Monday, February 22nd through their Go Wild account. The season will then begin once hunters have secured their licenses and tags.
This year’s quota is 200 wolves outside of reservation lands.
Permit fees will be $59 for residents and $251 for non-residents.
The DNR will continue to plan for a wolf harvest season to open on Nov. 6, 2021, while simultaneously working towards completing a 10-year wolf management plan to guide management decisions beginning in 2022.
