MOSINEE, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — An acid leak at a paper mill is now under control.
According to WAOW-TV the sulfuric acid leak at Mosinee Paper Mill was a small one and did not leave the contained area. Officials from the company said it’s standard protocol to call local fire departments to respond to the leak, which included the Mosinee Fire Department and the Wausau Hazmat Team.
There was a small evacuation from the area of the leak. But no machines were shut down with the leak and work continued as usual. The air in the area is currently being monitored for any impact.

WAOW-TV is reporting that the Wausau Hazmat Team is assisting the Mosinee Fire Department with a sulfuric acid leak at the Mosinee Paper Mill. There is currently no word on any evacuations from the mill.
