AUBURNDALE, WI (WSAU) — A child is dead after an early-morning crash in Wood County.
According to a news release at 6:50 a.m. Wisconsin State Patrol and the Wood County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle and pedestrian crash. The crash occurred on County Road Y near North Road in the Town of Auburndale.
The pedestrian identified as a young child suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. County Road Y was closed for several hours from the crash but was reopened shortly after noon. An investigation into the crash is ongoing with more information to be released when it becomes available.
