MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — New coronavirus cases on Sunday remained near average, and no new deaths were reported.
The Department of Health Services on Sunday is reporting 428 new cases of COVID-19, and the seven day average slightly increased to 473.
On Monday the seven day case average was 405 as that value increased every day this past week besides Tuesday.
While the case average continued to grow this week, the death average began an overall decrease from Tuesday to Sunday.
Sunday’s seven day death average remained at three after the DHS reported no new COVID-19 deaths. Tuesday’s average was seven.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 575,748 positive cases, over 2.7 million negative test results, and 6,598 deaths.
The DHS considers 562,308 people to be recovered from COVID-19, or 97.7% of all COVID-19 cases.
As vaccinations continue across the state, the DHS reports Sunday that 1,699,837 residents have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine.
That represents 29.2% of all Wisconsinites.
Just under 75% of people 65 and older have received at least one vaccination, as the number slightly increased to 760,643.
Wisconsin continues to creep up on 1 million people completing their vaccination series, as the total is now 995,419.
