The Department of Natural Resources has the majority of Wisconsin under a “very high” fire danger warning. Southern parts of the state are currently labeled as “high” danger including Dodge County, where there was a barn fire over the weekend.
According to the Dane County Sheriff’s Department, a controlled burn in Albion got out of hand Sunday morning and fully engulfed a barn. Luckily, the barn was empty and no animals or humans were harmed. Total damages are estimated to be over $75,000.
This isn’t the first building to catch fire due to a controlled burn taking a turn for the worse this spring. Please be careful.
