SLINGER, WI (WSAU) — Wednesday’s snowy conditions made for dangerous driving in Southeast Wisconsin where at least one person died following a pileup along Interstate 41.
According to the Associated Press, 48 vehicles including multiple semis were piled up near Slinger in Washington County. Multiple injuries were reported in the incident including nearly three dozen people who were treated at the scene. Six others were taken by ambulance.
Reports indicate at least one person died in the incident.
The State’s Department of Transportation was advising no travel on I41 at the time of the crash.
DOT officials closed the Interstate from Mt. Pleasant to Lomira for several hours while the scene was cleared.
