MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Progress continued in getting younger Wisconsinites vaccinated against COVID-19.
Over 3,000 more children and teens between the ages of 12 and 15 have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose on Sunday.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, 4.3% of residents ages 12 to 15, or 12,697 people, have received at least one vaccination dose.
On Saturday, The DHS reported that 9,079 children and teens 12-15 had received at least one dose.
The DHS says 38 kids and teens ages 12-15 have completed their vaccination series.
A total of 4,869,481 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the state, and 2,639,668 total residents, or 45.3% of Wisconsin have received at least one dose.
Nearly 83% of residents ages 65 and older, and almost 50% of adults 35-44 have received at least one dose.
Just under 40% of residents, or 2,294,673 people have completed their vaccination series, including 78% of residents 65 and older.
For the week of May 9, 152,113 doses were administered, the lowest weekly total since the week of January, 17.
The DHS says it is experiencing technical issues in updating their COVID-19 case data and will update their website as soon as possible.
