STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — UW-Stevens Point men’s hockey coach Tyler Krueger has announced the completion of his team’s schedule. The Pointers will play 12 home games at K.B. Willett Arena in 2021-22.
The 2021-22 campaign will kick off with a home-and-home against in-state rival St. Norbert. Opening night is set for Oct. 29 in De Pere with UWSP’s home opener the next night versus the Green Knights.
After a weekend in Minnesota, the Pointers return for a three-game homestand. Saint John’s and Bethel visit Stevens Point on Nov. 12 and 13. The Pointers open league play at home on Nov. 19 versus UW-River Falls.
Thanksgiving weekend will feature a home-and-home against Concordia (Wis.) with the Falcons coming to Stevens Point on Nov. 27. The Pointers will be back home on Dec. 4 against Northland before capping the calendar year at home against UW-Eau Claire on Dec. 10.
UWSP’s first home game in 2022 will be against UWEC on Jan. 12. After a pair of games at UWRF, the Pointers wrap the home slate with a four-game homestand. UW-Superior is in for a pair on Jan. 28 and 29 with UW-Stout rounding out the home schedule on Feb. 4 and 5.
The Pointers close out the regular season at Northland on Feb. 11 and 12 before the WIAC Tournament begins the following week.
UWSP finished the 2020-21 season with a 7-4-1 record and reached the WIAC Tournament finals for the seventh-straight season.
