MADISON, WI (WTAQ) — As the COVID-19 pandemic wanes school districts with unvaccinated younger students will likely have to maintain some testing protocol into the Fall and Winter months.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Service is launching a new program to help those schools handle COVID-19 testing.
“The program is designed to minimize the workload on schools,” said Deputy DHS Secretary Julie Willems Van Dijk. “That way Wisconsin educators can focus on what they do best educating our state’s children.”
It works by connecting schools with lab vendors.
Kids under 12 are currently unable to be vaccinated.
