MADISON, WI (WTAQ) — Calling it an ‘incredible milestone’, state officials say half of all Wisconsinites have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
That’s according to numbers released on Friday.
DHS reports that 53.2% of residents (3,095,453 people) had received at least one dose and 50% (2,911,596) had completed their vaccine series.
Meanwhile, 1,487 people tested positive on Thursday for COVID-19. That brings the seven-day average to 1,139
Three deaths related to the virus were recorded Thursday, bringing the seven day average to three.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 635,933 total confirmed cases and 7,471 deaths.
