The Department of Agriculture Deputy Secretary Jewel Bronaugh announced a $400 million Dairy Donation Program (DDP). The goal of the program is to help donate dairy products and reduce food waste in a timely manner.
The DDP is a part of the $6 billion pandemic assistance USDA announced back in March and was established after the $350 million Pandemic Market Volatility Assistance Program for dairy farmers. The program will partner dairy organizations with non-profit feeding organizations to distribute food to those in need.
