MADISON, WI (WSAU) — Fans have been waiting for more than a year to return to Camp Randall Stadium for UW football games after the shortened 2019 season was played behind closed doors.
And in the first two weeks, dozens of those fans have had their stays at the game end sooner than they’d like.
UW Police say 45 fans were ejected from Saturday’s 34-7 win over Eastern Michigan University. That’s more than twice the number that was tossed out of the season opener against Penn State last week.
Officers say alcohol-related incidents took up most of their time, with 30 people cited for underage drinking. There were 19 calls for paramedics, four ambulance transports, and three people taken away for detox.
Officers had seven contacts with people showing a blood alcohol content of .2 or higher.
In week one officers tossed 22 people out of the stadium including 18 students, many for underage drinking.
Wisconsin is idle this week and returns to action on September 25th against Notre Dame in Chicago.
