CRANDON, WI (WSAU-WXPR)– The Sheriff of Forest County has resigned from the post. John Dennee said the resignation took effect on September 5th.
Dennee said, in a resignation letter, that he knew it was time after discussions with his family. He has served in the elected post for 11 years and has spent 31 years in law enforcement.
A new sheriff will be appointed by Governor Evers to fill out the rest of Dennee’s term which expires on January 2, 2023.
Applications for the post can be found at www.evers.wi.gov and must be submitted by October 8th.
