STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The 21st ranked UWSP volleyball team split a pair of matches over the weekend. The beat Carroll 3-0 on Friday and lost to Whitewater 3-0 on Saturday.
Friday Megan Lau had 11 kills and Ashley Kopp had 10 for the Pointers. Grace Michalske had 31 assists and Emma Peterson had a match-high 14 digs. The scores were 25-12, 25-12, 25-20.
Saturday Ashley Kopp had 15 kills but it wasn’t enough. The scores were 20-25, 15-25, 21-25.
Grace Michalske had 27 assists, her 19th straight match with double figures.
The Pointers, 20-5, 3-2 in WIAC, play at UW-Oshkosh on Wednesday.
The UWSP football team dropped a 37-12 game at UW-Stout on Saturday.
Freshman quarterback Trey Schroeder had two touchdown passes. Joe Aguilera from Abbotsford caught both TD tosses.
The Pointers, now 2-4, 0-3 in WIAC, will play at UW-Platteville this Saturday afternoon.
The UWSP womens soccer team topped Uw-River Falls 3-0 on Saturday.
Kati Frierdich had two goals for the Pointers. Hannah Kroupa notced the other tally. Miranda Nieman had nine saves.
The Pointers, now 6-9, 2-2 in WIAC, will travel to UW-Eau Claire on Wednesday.
The UWSP womens tennis team split a pair of matches, losing 9-0 at Eau Claire on Friday and winning 7-2 at River Falls on Saturday to wrap up the regular season.
The Pointers now 16-3, head to Madison for the WIAC Championships on Saturday.
