MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Tuesday was deadline day for tendering contracts to unsigned players and the Milwaukee Brewers announced some moves.
They did not tender a contract to Daniel Vogelbach, instead signing the other left-handed hitting first baseman, Rowdy Tellez, to a one year contract at $1.94 million.
They also non-tendered pitcher John Curtiss who was acquired in a trade with Miami but injured his elbow requiring Tommy John surgery. He will miss all of the 2022 season.
The Brewers did tender contracts to Willy Adames, Corbin Burnes, Josh Hader, Adrian Houser, Eric Lauer, Omar Narvaez, Brent Suter, Brandon Woodruff and Luis Urias.
The Brewers also announced that Jace Peterson and Jandel Gustave avoided arbitration signing one year deals. They also made official the signings of catchers Pedro Severino and Brett Sullivan to one year deals. Severino is the likely backup to Omar Narvaez with Sullivan probably starting the season at AAA Nashville where he would share the duties with prospect Mario Feliciano.
Milwaukee also signed pitcher Rex Brothers to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training. Brothers spent the last two season with the Cubs.
