MADISON, WI (METRO) – The price tag for Wisconsin’s governor’s race will be in the tens of millions of dollars.
Governor Tony Evers yesterday said he ended 2021 with over $10 million in the bank. He’s expected to raise a lot more as he looks to get a second term.
Republican frontrunner Rebecca Kleefisch yesterday said she’s raised over $3 million in the past four months.
Wisconsin is a battleground state in both this year’s election and the 2024 race for the White House. Politicos say the high stakes in the state will make for some very expensive elections.
