COTTAGE GROVE, WI (WSAU) — Retail giant Amazon is planning a new distribution center in the Madison area.
The Wisconsin State Journal reports the Seattle-based company is in talks with the Village of Cottage Grove for a five-story facility that would operate 24/7 and could employ up to 1,500 workers.
Officials with the Village say the company is not asking for any tax credits or other incentives for the proposed $200 million project. If all goes as planned, construction on the 3.4 million square foot facility could begin later this year.
Amazon already has three other distribution centers located in Oak Creek, Kenosha, and Beloit.
