LOS ANGELES, CA (WTAQ) – Widely suspected, last night it was made official…Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers wins the NFL’s Most Valuable Player Award for the 2nd year in a row and the 4th time in his career.
Rodgers earned 39 of 50 votes from a panel of media members who regularly cover the NFL. Recenely retired Tom Brady finished a distant second in the voting.
The Packers finished the season NFC-best record of 13 & 4, but eliminated in the divisional round of the NFL Playoffs by the San Francisco 49ers.
And good news for a standout Packer from the Brett Farve era.. The long wait to be voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame is finally over for several deserving candidates. One of them is Green Bay Packer LeRoy Butler.
Butler is recognized as the originator of the Lambeau Leap and was a dynamic defensive back for the Packers of the 1990s. Butler had 38 career interceptions, was a four-time All-Pro and helped Green Bay win the title in the 1996 season.
