GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The opportunity to buy stock in the Green Bay Packers has ended.
The team’s sixth ever stock sale ended on Friday at midnight. It’s unclear when the team might offer shares again.
The shares, offered for $300 each, raised about $64-million. Most of the money will go towards renovations at Lambeau Field.
The Packers say 194,537 shares were sold. The buyers were from all 50 states and Canada.
The shares are different from stock you might buy in other companies. It’s only sold to individuals and families, not to institutional investors. You can gift your shares to a family member, but the shares aren’t able to be traded.
