CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The teenage boy under arrest for the killing of 10-year-old Lily Peters told investigators he intended to rape and kill her.
Prosecutors said Wednesday that he did just that on Sunday night, when Peters went missing and was found dead the next morning.
$1 million bond was set for the teenager during a court hearing today.
The boys name and specific age has not been released.
The criminal complaint was also sealed.
Investigators announced the arrest of the suspect Tuesday. They said the two knew each other but did not say how.
Lily’s body was found Monday morning near a walking trail.
Her father called police about 9 p.m. after she failed to return home from a visit to her aunt’s house, which was just blocks away.
