CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI (METRO) – A push is underway to create a new alert system following the murder of Lily Peters in Chippewa Falls.
Lily was reported missing on Sunday night and police knew what she looked like, where she was riding her bike to and that she didn’t make it home.
However, it wasn’t enough to issue an AMBER Alert. AMBER Alerts are issued for children who are in serious danger of bodily harm or death and require descriptions of the child and a suspect or suspect vehicle.
A petition has been started on Change.org to create a “Lily Alert” for cases that don’t meet all the criteria of an AMBER Alert.
