STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) – There’s been a hazmat spill in Stevens Point.
Fire Chief JB Moody says there was a spill of sulfuric acid at Pixelle Specialty Solutions.
Stevens Point Fire called in the help of surrounding departments including the Plover Fire Department’s Hazmat team.
The scene was evaluated and the spill was contained. A clean-up crew was sent to the area, and they have since departed. Chief Moody says the mill was not evacuated, and there is no danger to the public.
