MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The U-W Board of Regents voted Thursday to continue the in-state tuition freeze.
Wisconsin residents haven’t seen a full-time student tuition hike since 2013.
The regents said in a written statement that $25-million in COVID relief funding, allocated by Governor Tony Evers, made the freeze possible. That funding did not need to be approved by the state legislature.
In-state tuition for undergraduates is $10,722.
There will be a small increase for room and board and student fees. They’ll rise by $273.
There is no freeze for out-of-state students. They’ll pay nearly $39,000 to attend UW Madison, and slightly less to attend other campuses within the UW System.
